RTI for Behavior
It is essential that the referral packet includes comprehensive documentation of all interventions attempted, along with data reflecting the student’s response to each intervention.
Documentation should include:
-
A detailed description of the behavior concerns.
-
Interventions implemented at Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 levels.
-
The frequency, duration, and intensity of each intervention.
-
Progress monitoring data indicating the student’s response to the interventions.
-
Any other relevant observations or notes from staff.

This documentation is critical to ensure that we have a clear, evidence-based understanding of the student’s needs and to determine the most appropriate next steps — whether that involves continued support through MTSS or consideration for a special education evaluation.
Please make sure to collaborate with your colleagues, counselors and the Student Support Team to ensure that all steps are followed and properly documented. Our goal remains to support each student in achieving success, and thorough documentation is a vital part of this process.
If you have any questions or need guidance on how to document behavior interventions effectively, our staff is available. I've also included some helpful links below.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our students and their success.
